Role Summary

The Evidence & Custody Officer keeps the record straight and sealed — the custody chain behind every field exhibit, surveillance product, and kompromat package the Directorate holds. The role enforces collection, sealing, hashing, and retention standards so evidence holds up internally and never surfaces where it could be attributed, and maintains the firewall so nothing crosses the Halcyon ledger. The officer's job is not to disclose evidence — it is to make sure it can be produced, or buried, exactly when the Directorate chooses.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Receive, seal, hash, and log field exhibits, surveillance products, and kompromat into custody under closed reference.
  2. Enforce chain-of-custody, retention, and integrity standards so no exhibit can be challenged or attributed.
  3. Maintain the sealed kompromat and disclosure-risk custody trail under restricted reference.
  4. Hold the firewall so no exhibit crosses the Halcyon ledger or public-facing infrastructure.
  5. Support Legal on authorization files, deniability memos, and the whistleblower-containment record.
  6. Run the retention schedule, producing or destroying material only on authorized instruction.
