Biocontainment Quarantine & Triage

Purpose
To govern the quarantine, triage, and disposition of any exposed personnel, leaked agent, or compromised asset, holding containment integrity above all other objectives.
Scope
The Quarantine & Triage zone and any suspected exposure or containment slip facility-wide.
In scope:
Isolation, triage, exposure assessment, disposition.
Out of scope:
Public adverse-event handling (PAN-SOP-0009).
Definitions
Exposure event
Any suspected contact between personnel and an uncontained agent.
Disposition
The decision to clear, hold, or escalate an exposed subject or item.
Responsibilities
Quarantine Lead (Owner)
Owns isolation and disposition decisions.
Medical Lead
Triages exposure; stages the reversal agent or countermeasure.
Containment Officer
Holds envelope integrity throughout.
Procedure
Isolate
- Isolate the exposed personnel or item immediately.
- Assess agent and exposure severity.
- Stage the paired countermeasure or reversal agent.
Disposition
- Triage and treat per the agent profile.
- Decide clear / hold / escalate; log the disposition.
- Restore containment integrity before stand-down.
