Purpose
To govern the deposit, storage, and recovery of subject-line tissue, engineered cell lines, and gametes in the Cryo Subject Vault under redundant, audited custody.
Scope
All material in the Cryo Subject Vault, including the progenitor and reference lines.
In scope:
Deposit, redundant storage, viability, recovery.
Out of scope:
The deepest classified lines under separate sealed custody.
Definitions
Redundancy
Material split across independent dewar banks and a mirrored second site.
Re-derivation
Rebuilding a degraded or lost line from banked reference stock.
Responsibilities
Cryo Vault Lead (Owner)
Owns custody and the redundancy split.
Cryo Technician
Deposits and recovers material; verifies viability.
Director of Continuity
Authorizes any access to the sealed classified lines.
Procedure
Deposit & store
- Log material against its source cohort and line ID.
- Split across independent dewar banks and the mirror site.
- Stream seal, fill, and temperature to the Fabric.
Recovery
- Authorize against a genetic-recovery or strain order.
- Thaw and re-derive; verify fidelity.
- Reconcile inventory and reseal.
