VITALNET Node Deployment & Maintenance

Purpose
To govern the deployment, calibration, and maintenance of VITALNET sensing nodes and relays so that population coverage stays continuous and latency stays within spec.
Scope
All VITALNET edge nodes, relays, and integration points.
In scope:
Deployment, calibration, maintenance, coverage verification.
Out of scope:
Implant provisioning (PAN-SOP-0002).
Definitions
Coverage gap
A region or cohort the mesh cannot continuously read.
Edge node
A sensing or relay unit feeding the Synaptic Data Fabric.
Responsibilities
VITALNET Engineering Lead (Owner)
Owns coverage and the deployment plan.
Field Engineer
Deploys and calibrates nodes; closes coverage gaps.
Analyst
Monitors coverage and latency; flags gaps.
Procedure
Deploy
- Site nodes against the coverage plan.
- Calibrate and bind to the Fabric.
- Verify coverage and latency in-band.
Maintain
- Monitor node uptime and latency.
- Service or replace degraded nodes.
- Re-verify coverage after any change.
